How hard is it to remove these? |

Nothing to it. I took mine off. Use whatever to get the plastic rivets off and it will pull right off. I used a large flat screwdriver and a hammer. They cut right off. Terry |

Terry Thanks... It looks like some of the plastic rivets that hold on the plastic "fender flair" also hold on the fender liner... is this true? |

I think that those rivets add "support " for the front bumber also! I really dont think they do much though! Plastic is not a means of support in my eyes and the KJ could shed a few pounds of it!! Many have taken the liners out with out any problems. Josh |

It's easiest to drill the rivets out. There are just a couple more plastic push pins holding it on. It also helps to jack up the front to give you some room between the tire and fender flare to get the liner out. The liner does support the flare also. The flares aren't held on by much. |

I took the tires off so I could see better. I also made a brace out of aluminum that goes from steel to the plastic bumper cover. Nothing great, but I knew I was going to get a steel bumper. The bumper should be here in 2.5 to 3 months according to Jason. Terry |

Not to hi-jack this thread but, why take out the front fender liners? Isn't there potential for water, mud, etc. to get into where it should not? Would that not cause breakdowns, repairs, computer issues? Just curious - thanks in advance for any info guys! |

It really isn't a problem as far as water or dirt/mud getting anywhere. The liner fits very loosely so it isn't stopping anything. You WILL gain extra tire clearance. There are a couple of rather large (2"X3") factory holes in the fender that I plan on plugging up before I get bed liner sprayed in. Without the bed liner I do get water and mud seeping out between the fenders and the turn signals and fender flairs. Not a big deal. I have had it in very muddy water up to the bottom of the head lights. Terry |

Thanks for the info, Terry! Maybe when the weather up here in PA gets warmer, I'll give it a whirl. |
