Folks, please take a second and read the discussion "just given an update on an article" by bearmedic. I read this while waiting on my shrimp stuffed chicken to cook before the Superbowl.

Essentially, one of our Lost friends had a close call while serving in Iraq. Sadly, a couple of folks riding with him were not so lucky. As someone who never served in the military, I cannot imagine what this must be like.

However, thanks to technology we can lend a hand! Let's brainstorm ways LOST can pitch in and support Bearmedic's unit. Thoughts???

Often when a Marine is lost, the Marine's wife receives a hand delivered dozen roses from his closest friends. 11 red roses with a yellow rose in the center to let her know she is never alone. What are you thinking you'd like to do to help out?

We live safe and sound but many of our brothers and sisters live on the edge defending our country and ideals. Matter not how you feel about our adminstration the didn't set the rules. thay are serving as they signed up for. don't allow us to fall into the relm that met veterans back from NAM who were spat upon and called Baby Killers. These are our TRUE HEROS give them the respect they deserve and help these Vets any and all ways possible.

Not sure what you all think about it but, 4WheelParts.com's free magazine ORA has a program set up to deliver quality offroad lights to deployed units. From the letters from the troops it has been a huge blessing to them. I can;t speak for the need myself as a squid I usually fall in to support rolls when I go dryside. Maybe 0311_Doc or one of our other members who has been 'boots on the ground' can testify whether these will help. A nice contribution from the L.O.S.T community would be great though I think. You can read more about Operation Light Saber on the front page of ORA's website.

If we don't go this route, since it may or may not affect Bears unit (I believe they are sending the lights to other units besides Bravo now) we can go straight to the source and ask Bear what his unit needs, and either provide or see if some companies will help subsidize the cost...
