Any suggestions on a replacement blade for the windshield wipers? The stock ones have an air fin. If I change them is there any known issues of the wipers losing contact with the windshield at high speed / wind?

I have had wind related issues with my stock ones as well as the stock and relacement ones on wife's 02.

Replaced hers with snow blades, stiil chatter in high speeds and high winds, but did not know of others that didn't. How much and how do the Michelin ones work?

How long have you had them on?

I've had my Rain-X latitudes (basically like the Bosch whatever and the Michelin blade hyedpin posted) for about 6 months and they're freakin awesome. Essentially the same concept. I paid $20 for the pair w/employee discount, normally these type of wipers are gonna be $20 each.

I had problems with my drivers side wiper not clearing(loosing contact at speed),tried all types of wipers. The only one that I have found to work are Bosch ICON's,they are frameless and are in a shape of a little airwing to keep them on the glass, love them.About $18 apiece,I use the 18" versions but 19" versions will work also, they don't list them for the KJ.

Just got the RainX Latitude too and I love it. I paid $18 just for the driver side and got the 19" (that what the guy said after he looked it up.) I've only owned my jeep since June and this is the 2nd blade I got. Worth every penny. However, I havn't used it over 65 yet so I'm not sure about higher speeds but they seem like they will do fine. I thought the passenger side was fine but now compaired to the RainX I think I am going to switch that out too.

I have the same proplem driver wiper does not clear over 60mph. I thought it was a bad blade so i swapped it with the passenger side and same thing. I then though it was because they were junk walmart $3. wiper blds. I'm getting those michelins, bosch's, or rain x's this weekend. My dad has them on his subaru and likes them.

I think it is also due to the springs of these KJ wiper arms not being tight enough?
In addition, I realized 19" blades go above the driver side windshield and when it returns it is not touching at the very tip. Did anyone else notice it?

That's why I switched to 18" wipers.

picked up the rainx latitude, best wipers out there. I always buy the most expensive ones, and was a fan of the bosche, picked the rainx up, they were almost 20 bucks a piece, but they are AMAZING in rain and snow. Pepboys was running a in house special buy one get one. Picked another pair up for my jetta.

I've used the Bosch Icons & Rain-X Latitudes. The Bosch blades are of better build quality & worth the slightly higher cost. They hold tighter to the glass, but more importantly, the plastic tips that hold the rubbers in the blade frame are more substantial & better attached. On both of my Rain-X blades the tips broke off from just the arm's spring action, slapping the blade against the windsheild after cleaning it in cold temps. after they break, the rubber doesn't like to stay in place.

Funny you should ask, I just replaced the stock wipers! :D

I've used these on our other cars as well, and they seem to work good. They have a Teflon edge, and it seems a lot less streaky compared to the cheapo brands. They only time I saw them lift was driving through an auto car wash with the giant fan-dryers at the end.
They are made by Trico, we have them at Fred Meyer and auto stores around here.

The frameless wipers look good and seem like a VERY logical design.

Anyone have experience with them in snow / ice? Do they leave sections streaked and freeze just like regular wipers?

I would assume the rear wiper would work well with that design too (I hardly ever use it though).

My OEM's did real well, about 30K. I put on some upscale Bosch this summer (Not ICON) and they wore out in about 3 months. I looked for Latitudes but could find none so I got Icons and so far they are great. I bought 19" and have not had issues. I will need to check to see where they hit. They do not return quite as low on the windshield at the bottom of their stroke. It is great to have them not freeze up like the OEM's and the regular replacements.

The Icons work great. Theoretically, the Rain-X & Michellen should be great as well, but mine broke too early into Saturday's snow storm. I've had two winters. with the Icons & they are fantastic. The frameless design gets rid of the areas in the frame that Ice builds up, making the blade useless. Winter blades try to solve this by putting s rubber sheath around the frame to keep the snow & ice out of the spaces in the frame. The Icons just get rid of the frame spaces altogether. You still occasionally have to break some ice off the rubber wiping element, but that is the case with all blades. I put them on my sister-in-law's car durring an ice storm last Thanksgiving 2006, & they worked perfect.

Ive got the regular rain-x wipers and they work great. Paid $8 a piece and I usually replace them once a year.

No way Im paying $20 for a wiper.

the frameless design is well worth the price... If you get the streaking, or the blades lift off the glass at speed, or you live where you get snow or ice storms. If you do not experience these things, then you probably won't appreciate the design. But if you do these things are brilliant!

I just put a pair of the high dollar rainx on and noticed a lot of water pull back on the drivers side. I can't decide if it's always done it or I just noticed it because of the new blades. They sure do work nice and the boss/wife loves them. Has anyone else noticed it?
