Is a lifetime alignment like lifetime brakes.
You have to buy and have them install specific parts that they sell in order to recieve this so-called Lifetime deal?

I'm sure you realize that this is just a selling gimmick...right?

Selling gimmick my booty. I got the lifetime alignment from Firestone for less than the cost of two alignments. I have had it aligned four times since then. Not another dime outta my pocket either! Great deal if you can get it!

Lifetime Alignments are a gimmick and heres why...They sell you the Lifetime for a higher price, OK , then what most people do is forget about it , 2/3 years down the road sell the car and its gone. Only like 10/15 % of the people who actually buy the Lifetime use it at all. Back in the early 80s I worked for Goodyear as a Store Manager and we got bonus points for the store to sell Lifetime Alignments knowing full well it was money in our pocket! As a matter of fact it was so worth it to me that for every 5 sold I would give whoever sold it a coupon for 20 bucks for a lunch/dinner
Plus everytime if they did bring it back in , we HAD to find something to sell them, so more money

Just be careful, as Grandpa said "if it sounds too good to be true, dont bend over when youre signing for it"

the reason i'm looking is because i want to get another alignment before a road trip this weekend since i have some wobble. As soon as Geroge W. sends me my rebate money I'm going to get Als arms and will have to get another alignment. If the cost of a lifetime is less than 2 changes...BAM!! I'm the winner!

I think everyone has lifetime alignments now a days, that and lifetime tire rotation. I have both with about three different places I go to, havent paid a dime for any of them either. They were all either promotion or free when you buy a full set of tires.

I wouldnt pay extra for it at all, check check around and see what's being offered.

Its a good deal if you use it, places hope that you dont  as far as getting the arms, just be forwarned that we had to look if new parts had been installed if some had , the lifetime warranty was gone! This was back a few years and also why I did not work there too long, hate ripping people off!

Check the fine print and ask questions like the above, just trying to help

So like I said they aren't a gimmick, you need an alignment done on your vehicle then go get it done for as long as you own the vehicle. How is that a gimmick??? Its the poor persons fault they got talked into gettting the lifetime deal when they would never even have that vehicle back in there again. Thats who the business are tryin to sell these alignments to, not us who will actually be back there numerous times because then they would be losing money.

If you know you are going to be adding those things to your rig and that they require your ride getting realigned then by all means get the lifetime deal. It will more than pay for itself the second time you go back to get it done.

YA well, personally I dont trust things with modified suspension to just any ole alignment shop, chances are they are not going to take the time to dial it in right, if they even know what they are doing.

I hear ya there Sam, bu the on ehere in town does well. They said we couldn't get it back to factory specs but we got it to drive straight. And I have not noticed any adverse wear on the tire so they did there job. But other big chains I have gone to in the past just didnt know how to align a lifted KJ. They just kept saying well we cant get it back in to factory specs........ Needless to say no more going there. You just gotta find one that works for ya.

No offense to you or your Grandpa, but if a customer pays extra money for a lifetime warranty/service and then don't use it or take advantage of it, just how is it a gimmick? Sure, it's cost-effective for the store, but that doesn't make it a gimmick. It's like insurance: you pay your premiums and maybe you end up paying more into it than you ever get out of it. On the other hand, maybe you get a LOT more out of it than you ever pay into it. Again, it's no gimmick, it's just how much or little you end up using what you paid for.

Given your logic, pretty much anything bought or sold could be considered a gimmick.

Big advantage to get the lifetime for your Liberty if you off-road. You will lose alignemnt often. Start with the lifetime just before you lift it or change tire size for the first time. From there, all lifts and tire changes and heavy offroading gives you free alignments.

I keep my vehicles a long time so I will get my moneys worth. Just like the lifetime oil changes from Jeep.
