| Post subject: | Al's A-Arms Contact at full droop |
I've been meaning to ask this for a week or so now... Is it normal for the very edge of the control arm (ball joint area) to hit the spring at full droop? I thought there was supposed to be zero contact! |

Did you get it realigned after you installed the A-arms? |

And the GenIII and GenIV arms have a thicker balljoint bung the the Gen I and II and that could be the problem. My GenII arms do not contact the spring but there is only about a 1/8" between them at full droop,so if I had the GenIII or IV arms it would contact the coil. |

So I don't have anything to worry about then? |

How about the a-arm contacting the inner fender wall where they come out (closest part to the bushings). Mine seem to resting right against the metal. will that affect flex. I read some posts from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back that stated the metal may need to be shaed down or folded over. I can provide pics if needed. |

Mine does the same thing but only at full droop... I hadn't thought anything of it but I suppose it's something that should be fixed... |

I have that pinch part of the box framing your touching ground off at both spots both sides so I don't touch at all. Joe |

i read some old posts about grinding that part off or folding it over. i was thinking of doing it, but now right now. i'm sore from this most recent work. that metal is thick, it must take a lot to grind, did you do it yourself or have someone else do it. any insight on the amount of work. can it be done with a dremel with the right bit, seems a bit tough for that. |
