Assuming you have already, when did you? We just took the Libby into the Jeep dealer to get one of the oxygen sensors replaced and they said the spark plugs were worn out. We had them replace them, but at 39K it seemed kinda early. What has been your story with the spark plugs? Ryan |

As per owners manual----replace plugs every 30,000 miles. I know the OEM NGK's in my KJ where toast after 27,000miles,supposed to be gapped at 0.040" and when pulled they measured over 0.090",over 0.050" of wear in 27,000 miles, that's real bad. |

Must be a Jeep thing. In our two other cars that have about 50k we haven't had them or needed to have them replaced. O well... Ryan |

I have replaced mine 4 times in 97000 miles about every 25000, they are cheap to buy, easy to replace, so why not replace them for max power, fuel etc. I have never followed the mfgr. due to most times they are way off. Jeep is pretty right on , but 40/50000 is too much. |

You are driving a beast not an antelope. More stress on the engine and plugs. |

we had ours done at 30K along with all fluids we plan on doing the same at 60K or 4 months from now IIRC folks go 75-100K on the OE plugs with the I-6 |

I just turned 28,000 miles. My gas mileage is in the dumper (I know - winter gas and cold weather doesn't help)........as soon as Spring arrives and it's not so cold out, I will change them. I just don't feel like freezing my hands off, or any other body parts. |

I have new ones ready to go in, this will be its third set, i have around 64K he's right. they are good old copper core plugs! hence the early (by todays standards) change outs. but the good news is they are only $1.50 each. and easy to get to! |

Ryan I have been following my book, and the dealer said that I didn't need to change them, but in tracking down another problem, I told them to change them anyway, we had about 50+K. Steve |

Yeah, I hear ya, but this dealer is pretty good, they are always helpful for the most part, and they are helpful on the cost. This is not the case with the dealer that I bought it at, they were pieces of ^%$#, I have always made it a rule of thumb after off roading to put it on a lift and see if I broke something, but the Larchmont, NY dealer sucked big time, I guess that they tend to the suburbian crowd instead. So how many milies would you suggest? |
