Has anyone ever fitted a KJ 4x4 with a snow plow? Just wondering how the liberty would do pushing snow around here in Sioux Falls

haha well not to bad considering there barely is any right now. Anyways someone on here put a plow on the front and posted some videos of it. Maybe he will chime in or someone will know his name.

well, maybe not now, but in the past month there has been quite a bit of the white stuff. I was thinking that the short wheelbase of the kj would be perfect for snow removal in small parking lots, rather than using the big 4x4 pickups that every one is using.

A KJ is not so good as a snow plower. The lack of a rear frame makes it a very bad canidate.Plus the only plows that you are small enough for the KJ are the little ones that hook into a front reciever, not very good for moving very much snow.Get a 3/4-1 ton pickup for any major snow removal.

like tjkj said a Liberty is NOT a wise choice at all, maybe 2 inches and a small driveway but not to really plow. If you could do it with a Liberty or other small vehicle why do all the plow companies use large 3/4 or 1 tons ?? Save your money and get a tractor or truck

My engine skid makes an excellent snow plow. Or snow shovel, really. Must ... get ... lift.

The plow pic below is the same plow on my old mans '01 SuperDuty, couldn't mount it on anything less then a 3/4ton pickup. And it's only a wee little plow compared to the one he wants mounted(the one he has came with the truck).

It tips the scales at about 800lbs and is about the smallest plow you'd want to do anything besides a small driveway with less then 4" of snow on it.

Read and believe what you want and am not calling the guy a liar, but have had plows on 3/4 ton Fords and also on a 69 Bronco, it was hard enough on the 3/4 tons but the Bronco got tore up, with a 6 foot blade, had to redo all the u joints , springs etc after one winter, again KJs are not heavy enough unless you just want to PLAY snow plow driver. Also the way they mount its only a matter of time before he hits somthing solid and tears it all off. My boss tore my blade off of my 3/4 ton and he only hit a curb the right way well plus a little too much speed

Me too... and I agree!

no matter how high you go the front skid will still be a shovel, thats why I made one from the front of the ARB all the way down over the engine skid, no more mud , snow, sand, etc in there
