I've read lots of comments/complaints about the economy we get with our Libb's, so just for the heck of it, I thought I'd check mine close and here is my report for anyone that might be interested: I drive Interstate-5 to work each day, it is right about 40 miles to work. Libb is a 2006, 6-Speed manual with a 3.7 gas engine with no cruise control, 28K and I don't normally use my defrosters unless I have to. I use regular fuel and no specific brand of fuel. Libb is lifted 2.50" and has 10 ply 30.5" diameter Cepek M/T tires with 35lbs of air in them. There is also a roof basket w/o a deflector. I drive however I want, anywhere from 50 to 75 mph. The terrain is mostly flat with two reasonable grades and we go zoom-zoom over them. I am getting 15 and 1/2 mpg's consistantly. Wish I was getting 20+ but it is what it is isn't it. |

I get about 18.5 mpg in mixed driving with a stock '05 with a 6-spd. I do not drive conservately, either. Your left, tires, loss of aerodynamics, & the extra weight might be working against you. My '79 MAY get 8 mpg's. So, just be happy it isn't worse |

At hw speeds the tires and roof rack are killing you. I can get 18+ with my lift and tires at 70mph. Over that it drops kinda fast. |

Yep. The lift, the tires, the roof rack all that stuff that changes the aerodynamics kills your mpg's. Sure looks cool though, huh. |

Cold weather and winter gas........I am lucky to get 15 (mixed city/hw) with the pig. I have been driving the car. The Cutlass (28+ mpg even with winter gas) and the pig is in the garage. GM knows how to build a v-6. Course I am making an un-fair comparison. The car is aerodynamic and weighs less and tiptoes down the road like a fashion model whereas the pig likes to play in the mud and snow and suck gas .........like a pig.. When it snows I drag the pig out of the garage. In the summer the pig is a little better though. About 18 + mixed and about 20 + highway if I am easy on the pig. |

With 245/75/16's, Frankenlift, skids, rails, and lightbar,.. I get 26 highway/city mixed (mainly highway). My last highway trip was 28mpg (tend to cruise at an average of 72mph). My last wheeling trip I spent a fair amount of time in 4-Low and got around 19.5mpg-- which is the worst I have ever had. |

I'm getting about 15-16 mpg HWY. Winter gas, 2.5" lift, 235/70 a/t with steel wheels. In the summer I get about 17 mpg HWY. It's the city driving that kills me, about 13-14 mpg, luckily I drive mostly on the highway. Can't wait until I get bigger tires, skids and a roof rack.... |
