I just installed all new OEM Skids and when I installed the fuel tank skid (Since I have a trailer hitch) I wasn't sure which bolts to use to install the skid. It came with some bolts but the gold colored bolts that originally came with the hitch had about an 1/8 inch or more threads on them so I reused them to install the hitch/skid. Is this good enough to not worry when I'm towwing my utility trailer or my pop-up camper? Or should I have bought some new bolts that were much longer to install the hitch/skid?

Just wondering....thanks for any info you can give.

I just reused the hitch bolts when I slipped my MOPAR fuel tand skid in. It seems thin enough not to make much difference, now if it had been a thicker aftermarket skid....then maybe longer in order.

Installed a Mopar skid, then I got a RL bumper which uses the same mounting points. The original bolts were still used. When I added the Mopar hitch recently, I had to scrounge around for longer bolts.

I used the bolts that came with the Draw-Tite Hitch when I installed my Mopar skid plate. Worked out great.

Yep, you'll be fine. I used the bolts that came with the factory tow package on my Mopar gas skid and later used them for the Kilby. My trailer is about 2,000 lbs empty and has been towed all over the place. Last time I checked all the bolts were still fine.
