This was seen at the Jeep Booth at EJS - complete with a "Mopar Offroad Technology" decal. Real or just a cruel joke? The wheels are pretty stuffed in those wheel wells for sure.

Jeep is always showing off some form of "Look at what we could have done" vehicle. I doubt that we will ever see such a liberty on sale at the dealership. |

Was it still IFS though? The torque from a Rock-trac t-case in low wouldn't be too friendly to the Dana 30a. Or did they swap another diff into, like they did on the Liberator? I always thought they should have designed the front end so that it could fit both IFS and a solid axle. Then offer the Renegade (or Rubicon) package with the solid axle since that's the "off-road" package. They would sell the IFS to all the mall crawlers and soccer moms while the solid axle would be for people who want to wheel the Liberty. It would be like how they do pick up trucks. The half ton versions are IFS while the full tons have a solid axle. Oh and speaking of Jeep fantasy, in case anyone has forgotten, tomorrow from 5pm to 7pm is the "Tell Jeep what you want them to build" discussion on http://www.jeepforum.com. So if you want to see this or something else (like my idea above) built in the future, make sure you go over there and tell them. Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow night, so if someone else wants to suggest the the IFS/solid axle idea mentioned above, please do. I would if I could. |

Bummer, I didn't even stop by the Jeep display this year. If I'd known that was going to be there, I would have stopped by and taken some pics for sure. |

Diggerfreek wrote: the kk has a D30m... they dropped the pinion gear below the ring instead of above like the D30a That means the KK's front diff is really weak compared to the KJ's front diff.A HP30 is alot stronger(gear set wise) then a low-pinion D30.The TJ Rubicon has a low-pinion D44,which is no stronger then a HP D30 from a XJ.
