Today I turned my Jeep on after getting out of a store. There was a ding that I had not heard since my oil light used to come on. Now it is from the air bag light, next to the seat belt light on the dsah (02 model).

The light did not come on the next time I stopped and started.

Anyone know why my air bag light would be coming on? The air bag isn't going to go off when I am driving and kill me is it?

ever since i got my jeep back from the dealer after getting my engine replaced my airbag light has been on. they said it wasnt their fault. it defintiely wasnt on before. they said its an internal airbag controller fault. i have no clue what yours is, but mine comes on every startup with that ding

I had it come on when my Jeep was under warranty and it was a sensor in the passenger side seat belt. They had to replace the entire belt.

It could be many things though. Best thing to do is to have a dealer pull the codes when the light is on. My dealer told me they could only get the codes when the light was on. I figured it stored codes but I just took it back when the light was on since it wasnt when I took it the first time.
