| Post subject: | Coincidence? |
I've had my gripes about the Jeep engineers in the past, the four sizes of bolts holding the seats and seatbelts in, and the combination of torx, decimal metric size bolts and snaps holding the rest of the interior in. But could it be, that they though far enough ahead to ensure that our spare tires were exactly the right height to clear a keg? My hat goes off to all the engineers who realized that I would have the need to transport, and then set the keg on the ground and close the swing gate.
Coincidence, I think not! |

Trust Me a engineer at Chrysler wouldn't be thinking that far out of the box... We are lucky if we hook up a trailer to the hitch without the tire getting in the way! |

I don't care what you said in your post. The one thing that was most important and a concern to me was WHY DID YOU NOT CALL ME TO HELP DRINK THE GUINESS? I would have brought a keg of harp or bass ale and could had a black & Tan fest. So what was your post about? |

Jeep Dawg wrote: I would have brought a keg of harp or bass ale and could had a black & Tan fest. So what was your post about? Reading my mind! BTW, once you get rid of those stock tires and go up a size or two that keg will no longer fit and you will have to buy half kegs instead! |

The best part about Guinness is that for something that tastes so good, its good for you. With the high iron content it improves the health of your heart. So for years the Toucan was right "Guinness is good for you" |

Pardon my German heritage, But I'm partial to Saint Pauli Girl Dark. When growing up I was raised just out side of Washington DC rather then settle for the local available Barly Pop. I would drive into DC down Embassy Row. I would go to the local Liquour store since they would stock the real good high quality import. Then it was Lowenbrau Dark or St. Pauli, you can have the domestic but a good pizza with a good Dark German Beer there is nothing better. I'm sure someone will argue the point, but unless you have had the real thing you can bad mouth all you want. It's no different then eating a Steak in New York or eating a Steak in Kansas City or Houston Texas. Those in the know will understand what I'm say after this anaolgy. |

The best beer ever... http://www.mojave-red.com/lb.asp It really is. Im not just saying that. It does taste extremely good! But you just cant find it anywhere. Dam small brewerys...breweries? <--spl? Guiness is a kind of a Stout.

Thanks to Louie Pasteur, most of our import beer tastes bad (well, comparatively so...) I didn't like Guinness till I had a pint in Ireland...where it hadn't been treated for export. It was great. Then I came back to the US and couldn't stomach it again... poor beer. |

I've heard that from several people who've been to Ireland. I know they make three different blands, one for Europe, one for American bottles and one for American cans and kegs. I'm not sure what differences are, but the bottles are quite a bit higher in alcohol content than the kegs and cans. I found a homebrew recipie for the Euro blend, but have yet to find the time to try it. I'm saving up for a trip to the motherland next summer. |

I told my (previous) girlfriend that Guinness was a light beer and she spazzed and kept telling me it wasn't. She even talked to her bartender (she is a Mgr at a Bennigans) and he thought I was crazy. The young foolish pups! If you are reading this and think the same thing, go read the label and compare. It is a light beer. If you still don't believe me, check Men's Health Magazine, April 2008 issue page 106. |

I've never considered Guinness a 'light beer', but it does go down easy and smooth. What is the technical definition of a light beer? Is it based on calories? I think Guinness is about 160 calories per 12oz bottle, compared to 120 for most regular beers. I know most light beers aren't technically beers. To be a beer, there can only be four ingredients: barley, yeast, hops and water. If I cared about calories, I wouldn't be drinking Guinness. If I cared about MPG's, I wouldn't be driving a Jeep. I like my beer like I like my women, dark and thick. If it looks like piss, and tastes like piss...it's probably piss. |

Okay, every site I looked at came up with different numbers. Here is a great site for beer lovers. Per 12 oz Bottle Guinness - 126 kCal (10 g Carbs) Budweiser - 145 kCal (10.6 Carbs) Bud Light - 110 kCal (6.6 Carbs) Fat Tire Amber Ale - 164 kCal http://www.realbeer.com/edu/health/calories.php |
