Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had seen security nuts specifically for holding onto your winch? I vaguely rememeber hearing about some, but don't remember enough to find them. I know about just tack welding the nut, but I would rather not do that if possible.

Any thoughts.

Stephen

If you get the ARB bumber there is no need for those since you'd have to dismattle the bumber to get the winch out.Tacking the bolts/nuts is the best way.

ARB is so much safer. Takes a hell of a long time to steel a winch from an ARB.

Spot welds can be cut with a nut splitter pretty quickly. I like my ARB.

i would just get a band of steel the same width of the nut.. and make a cage around it ... kinda like a squared off loop over the bolt so you couldnt get the bolt off without doing some major cutting or grinding or heating.... so then i could just cut that off if i ever wanted to remove my winch instead of destroying the entire nut with a cut off wheel or torch.

Either way, locking bolts/nuts or tack welding the bolt/nut(which if done right won't ruin the bolt/nut) can be easily removed if a person has the right tools.I carry the tools to remove bolt tack welded nut/bolt and locking bolts/nuts at all times and were bought for cheap at Sears.

Do what ever you feel is better for you.If someone really want's it they will take it one way or another, even if mounted in a ARB bumber.
