I have an 05' Renegade, One of the wheels has some corrosion, what can I do to stop it from spreading? Can I Just grind the spot down, polish it then put new clear coat over the spot?

Its tough to stop it once it starts, best thing is to have all the clear coating taken off and then redone or find a used wheel/ paint all of the ones you have
I tried a few years back redoing my step fathers wheels that were doing the same thing they looked good for a year or so then started again, finally sanded them all down again and painted them a darker grey easy to touch up!

or I guess you could take Woodys advice but then youre moving in a short while anyways are't you?

the really NOT cost effective way of doing it is to remove the wheels AND tires. take and have them sandblasted the powder coated the color of your choice. then move to a state with no road salt OR salty ocean air.

yeah I am moving west, so I don't think they will see much salt, but I just don't want them to get worse. On my Pathfinder the rims didn't start to corrode until the truck was eight years old, the Jeep is only three and one wheel looks worse than all my Pathfinder wheels did at ten years old.

I have a better idea, on your way west, drop down to KY and buy my brand new (less then 10,000 miles AND NO ROAD SALT) stock wheels from me. keep yours as spares for when the salt comes out. Yeah, I like that idea. Got TPMS on your KJ, guess what....

Before i get in trouble, check the 4 sale section for details. I have a pending offer, but not sold yet.

WOW, I am an idea man. I like my ideas....
