I've met him personally (bought his 16" rims and tires off him), he seems like a stand up guy to me.
Having tried to manufacture and sell items before myself, you guys need to give him a little slack. He works full time and has a family. I am betting he had no idea his bumpers would be so popular. He is not Rock Lizard who's career is making this stuff. He's doing it on the side and so you can't really expect him to be able to bang out bumpers one right after the other.
Anyone who bought from him should have realized he was just another KJ'er who decided to try and make some money off of his love for the Jeep and his skill as a welder. Not every small business starts out knowing exatly what they are getting themselves into.
I'm not saying you guys shouldn't grumble, I'm just saying you should consider all the facts. I listen to people all day long calling in to dispute charges they placed on their credit cards. Half of them got themselves into a situation that could have been avoided by thinking things through. Many of them start out by telling me: "I ordered an item from this small, never heard of, online company and now I can't get ahold of them and I never got my product."
Boo hoo.
A little discretion goes a long way. I'm willing to bet that JHCRASH thought he would only get a few people interested in his product, hence the pre-production price to entice buyers. Then he got more orders than expected and got swamped. Life happens. Deal with it.
I remember seeing not too long ago that RL was having trouble getting stuff from his suppliers so it delayed product from going out. Things happen. We should be glad that people are willing to make stuff for our KJ's. It's not like we all have tj's, yj's, and even jk's where every major manufacturer jumps all over each other to make parts for them. We own vehicles that are unique with very little aftermarket support. Take what you can get or buy a wrangler.
And yes, I can be brutally honest at times.
