Did you know that mud in your rims will cause your Liberty to shake worse then a newborn doe??

I thought the balance of my tires or my aligment had been thrown off from playing in the sand and mud. I got home last night and sprayed out my rims and the underside of my truck (AGAIN) and pulled out what looked like a wash bucket + od sand.

Got on the autobahn this morning and it was fine.

I just couldn't beleive mud could do that. Just wanted to let you guys know.

I went out wheeling once and so far I have 3 problems. Is that they way you guys work the bugs out or do I just have bad luck??

Yup, mud is pretty heavy stuff. I read somewhere that after "mudding", your rig can weigh a few hundred pounds more from all the mud that collects on it! That's why it bucks and kicks like a mule going down the road I guess. 8)

Snow will also cause a shake if it gets in your wheels. What really stinks is if you have water IN your tires, they will never balance, and they will freeze in the winter...lol.

I'm still trying to figure out what a shack is
After a quick romp down the beach at OBX I had to clean out the sand when we hit hardball due to a major inbalance.

I noticed that they don't drain water at all. You'd of thought they would of made little drain holes...

Snow does that same thing. It can also mess with the steering if you get enough of it packed in there. Happened to a buddy of mine years ago in an old 4Runner. Went blasting through an unplowed parking lot. When we got to the end, he couldn't turn. Had to get all of the snow out with a broom handle before we could go any further.

Just something to keep in mind 8)

NOTE:

4000+ lbs Jeep != tight handling sports car.
4000+ lbs Jeep @ 100mph == accident waiting to happen.

Don't mean to sound like a stick in the mud, cause I like to go fast too, but it never hurts to be reminded of what your driving. :D Be safe!

I drive about 60 miles an hour on the autobahn ... when I first got the liberty I just wanted to see what she had and how fast she could go. 105 mph then she cut out. If I am in a big hurry about 130kilometers (80mph) but with gas prices over here I keep her around 100 KM (60mph)

Wait till you get snow packed in the rear wheels. Has happened to me 2 years strait. When you try to stop.. Good luck. Seems like the fronts lock up and the rear has no brakes at all. Thank god for snow banks and 4wd.

On a recent trip to my parents, it rained and the dirt roads went muddy, well that's an open invite. It looked like peanut butter dripping off the wheels and body, but before I left I hosed off the wheels, as I've experienced the inbalance caused by mud before. But darn, that was fun!

If you have an imbalance caused by mud, simply return to the mud and keep going through it until the mud is evenly distributed all around. It's a 'win win' situation then. :D

Yep, Every year after doing donuts in the snow in my Saturn I have to unpack all the snow in the wheels or else it feels like my car is going to fall apart when I am driving down the road.
