Hi anyone know how to remove the panel around the Auto gear selector to access the gear shifter and switch base.
I just got my Startech rosewood and leather gear shifter and the fitting instructions say "refer to DC removal instruction to access the mechanism"

Great :?

Thanks in advance

The floor console is held in place by four screws. Two of them are accessible at the rear of the flip-up box. The third is below the gear selector cover plate and the fourth is under the transfer case shifter cover plate. Both cover plates can be pried up using something soft (so as to not leave marks). I've been told a plastic knife will do the job. But, you can also use a Miller special tool C-4755.

Many thanks off to give it a go. It was the gear selector cover plate I was worried about most. :)

Just as you said, the plastic trim unclipped, the plate over the selector positions was next a bit tight at the front clips but eventually it gave in 8)
The console only needed to be unscrewed and lifted a little to allow this plate to be removed.
A torx head screw attaches the plastic shift lever to the shaft undo that and lifted it to reveal the wires. I cut them near the connector and slid on the Startech item refed the wired connected the O/D switch put it all back together and was finished in about an hour.
I'll pop a pic on if anyone wants to see, yes I know its another vanity mod but Hey! gotta enjoy the environment I ride in too you know as well as the one I ride on
