Is there a particular range of years that fit the KJ's or are they all the same? |

the styles changed a little - but 03-06 are okay - in 07 they went to 17" and I think a 5" bolt circle so the 16" will fit - the 17" won't fit without an adaptor. |

What is the width of the MOAB rims? DO they get wider compared to the stock 16 that come with the Lib. OR do people just get them for the looks? |

8", though most people get them for the aesthetics |

I would assume that the Renegade also are 16x7? So that makes sense at least you are getting a wider rim. |

Ya but for most of us the 8" doesn't mean much over the 7" |

Iam kinda new to the off road sceen. I know for a lowered car that can make a huge difference for auto cross. I was debating on gettign them if the extra inch made that big of a deal. but if not I like my stockers for now. The MOAB's do look nice on the libby though |

Keep in mind though, usually the problem there is that your limited by how wide of a tire you can run on a narrower wheel because the sidewall is so small, if the tire is too narrow, it wont seat on the rim, too wide and it will pull and deform the tire around, or just not mount at all. But with the jeep you have so much sidewall that for most tires 7" vs 8" doesn't matter. |

I went to check on a 4 I saw on Craigslist today. I'm probably going to get them Monday, after he gets them off his XJ. Price is ok, 4 Goodyear silent armour tires, 245/75/16 with about 65% tread left, on 4 Moabs, about a 7 of 10 rating for $500. |

I dont much care about the extra width, its the less back spacing that I like. |

I got my Moabs off a guy who had an 04 Rubicon. I got them for a few reasons, 1ST as a ruls, when you go higher you should go wider! 2ND love the way the look on a lifted KJ They are a 16x8 rim. My stock were 16x7 That little difference looks awsome. (tan's2002kjlimited) NICE PRICE! i would nail them |

The previous owner painted them with can spray paint maybe primer. They need 2x clearcoat. I'll post pics, needing tires though and that may be couple of weeks. Complete set of 5.

The big thing with going with the Moabs for me wasn't so much going from 7" to 8" in width. It was going from 5.5" of backspacing to 4.5" of backspacing. It was the difference between rubbing or not on the upper control arms. |

Yup, thats the main issue, though for most tires its not a problem. You gotta get pretty big for it to be an issue. |

The 8" rims will push the center of the tire out 1/2" on each side, gaining you an inch more total width. I also thought the Moabs are 1/2" to 1" better offset (?), which will also make your stance a bit wider. So that should give you 2"-3" wider total profile just because of the rim. Now if you go wider tires, then you are winning again. I noticed a much better/wider stance when I put on the Moabs with the 245/75r16 goodyear MTRS that were on them. |

Just put a set of 235/70R16 Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor on 16x8 Moab rims (no lift). Rides great.
Tight fit though...
