Does anyone know how to get rid of the musty odor coming from the cooling coil(I'd guess). I've tried the Lysol and fan trick, but the results are only temporary. Does the Liberty have an intake fan filter somewhere? |

I've got the same problem. Any info would be appreciated. I always notice the smell when I first get in after it has been sitting for awhile. Once the air has had time to recirculate it seems to go away. The smell seems less strong when I leave the ac in recirculate mode. |

Run your in in outside air mode.for a while every now and then. This is a common problem with many vehicles. |

The smell is a pretty common problem. The solution is to simply turn off recirculate for a few seconds before you turn off the Jeep. This will open the doors inside and let any moisture evaporate. |

When I picked up my KJ the salesman mentioned that you should only use the recirculation option on the AC on the hottest of summer days. The reasoning behind this is constantly recooling cold air causes a build up of moisture in the AC system. So just run the AC less on recirculate and more from the outside. Once my KJ cools down its not hard to keep cool this way. |

There has to be something better than just not running on recirculate. I don't think I have ever placed the switch on that mode, have checked the evaporator drain tube, its clear. Tried the Lysol in the cowl while running the fan on a high speed and the odor still returns shortly later. |
