Hey guys i don't know if any of you are going to know the answer to this, but i want to get an all OME lift but my mom is freaking out that she thinks it is going to void the whole carmax warranty we bought when we got the car. Do any of you guys know for a fact that it wont void the warranty. I keep telling her they only wont touch the after market parts that i replaced. AHHHH

Please help me guys i want this lift soooo bad! :(

X2
factory warranty you are good
but with these you may not be
how ever you can have it serviced where you want so just bring it to a shop you know you can trust and let them deal with it
I had one on the TJ and busted some parts
wanted to up grade so I brought it to my guy he told them the problem and for a few dollars more to cover parts I got what I wanted ,all they did was send a guy out to take pictures of the Jeep
but up on a rack with no tires on what can you tell about a Jeep ,does it have a lift or any after market parts for that matter
who could tell from crappy pics?

I had max care. Of course I wasn't lifted, but the extended warranty should still be valid on any parts other than the suspension and front half shafts. Also, when you go in, it might help if you don't mention the fact that your KJ is lifted. The dealership guys might not notice, or the ones that do notice probably won't care.

Yea thats what i told my mom that they wouldn't even notice, plus i think they they would just not fix the parts that i replaced it says in my warranty papers that "we do not pay benefits to failed non covered parts that cause covered parts to fail" but isn't there a law that says they have to prove that the non covered part caused the covered one to fail? i think shes almost convinced!!

Not that this is a quotable source but: Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act on Wiki

You can find the real documentation else where on the internet to verify the verbage on wiki. I would.

It's not clear to me that Magnuson-Moss covers 3rd party warranty's - those are seperate service contracts.

read the paperwork.

When you put an aftermarket part on a vehicle. That part is no longer covered under warranty. It would be up to the dealer to argue that your lift was indeed the reason that the seat heater or BCM failed. Those items would still be covered.

Now, trying to get a steering pump or transmission replaced. Those items probably would be voided

yea i dont know for sure yet, i told her i would pay for any damages that the lift would cause, i think she knows that i take good care of it considering the money i paid to buy it, and she bought the warranty, with ome hd lift im not going to gain an extreme amount thats going to cause parts to fail so i think im ook. Anyone else have any experiences or knowledge?

If your just doing the OME lift you should be just fine, just don't go overboard with the tire size and you'll be fine. That what gets most poeple is the tire size, that is what will void much of any warrenty(powertrain wise) since oversized tires can be linked to everthing in the powertrain if it fails.

yea i was planing on keeping my 235/75 revos for a while until they started to wear and then was planning on going with a 245 bfg mt because the warranty paper states that you cant go over 2 sizes higher than the oem

Logan Thanks for all you help.
More suggestions are welcome
