http://www.pulstarplug.com/index.html I just happened across them in popular science. They have a pretty convincing web site and ad. Also they claimed an independently dyno tested Nissan 350Z by modified magazine. first tested with iridium plugs, then with the pulstars, and showed an 11 hp increase. Might be worth looking into... |

(Sorry for the hi jack) Unfortunately both, more pulling than being pulled. thats where I usually attach the end of my winch cable when using a turning (snatch) block. |

Normally if plugs increase your power - then you had a problem with the ignition system to begin with. Theoretically a better plug with a wider gap could start the combustion sooner - which could give the effect of advancing your timing a small amount. however I don't know if the computer has a good feedback mechanisim for adjusting timing - I suspect it advances it until it gets a knock detect and then backs off - if so it'll correct out any changes and you won't see an effect. |

Also if a plug fires too hot won't it screw up your valves down the road? |

My dad told me about those. I can't say how they perform (for the cost it better be good!). But he did say they were designed by engineers at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM. The design was sold to a local company for production. My folks live in Abq, and my dad saw a demo at one of the Napa stores. He said it was much brighter than regular plugs. No one I know has used these plugs though. Although it is engineered by legitimate engineers I still wouldn't fall to advertisers' words. If they are better, I would hope it is a night and day difference instead of something marginal. |

I did a web search and found an independent dyno test performed. This guy saw a small jump in torque and HP. I'm still skeptical on buying $160 spark plugs. http://www.customtacos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=98382 Rescu2000 |

He stated his old plugs where worn and no real proof of any real dyno runs,so yes you will gain HP and torque when you replace WORN plugs. Those "snake oil" plugs will only drain your pocket and not gain you any more power.A properly operating ignition system will not benifit from "fancy" plugs.

I did some reading today on forums about these and one vendor on the forum (a tuner company) said that they had tried them and that they did see some horsepower gains, but ONLY if the vehicle was tuned to take advantage of the new spark. Again, you have to question was it really the spark or the tuning. I also saw some references to the Piston holes that the V-Fire plugs used to burn in the pistons. Bottom line. They won't be getting my money Rescu2000 |

Those 2 prong plugs are junk and a waste of money.Either the regular Bosch single platnuims or the Autolite platnuims(double platnuims good also from Autolite) seem to work the best in the KJ.
