I've just mounted some 55watt halogen fog lights to my KJ. They were the rectangle shaped lights and fit perfictly in the openings next to the factory fogs. I plan to use these lights for driving/fishing on the beach because they throw a low angle pattern (never a good idea to drive the beach with your headlights on.

Anyway, here's my question...I purchased the add-a-circuit which I understand plugs in where an existing fuse is located. I'm just wondering which fuse location I should install it into. Does it matter? or can I just pull one (like the headlights) and insert it there?

May be a stoopid question but I just dont want to be driving down the road and have a problem.

When I installed my lightbar I tapped one of the taillight fuses. I assume you'll at least have your parking lights on in the dark?

Well, I mounted the lights last night and did the wiring this morning. Looks pretty good and I think the added low angle light will definately help during my late night drives down the beach. I used the add-a-circuit and tapped slot 2 in the fuse block which was labled "rear fog". Not sure why there was a 10 amp fuse in there since Im in the US and dont have rear fogs. Tonight I will aim them a little better and have a chance to see how much difference they really make.

Thanks for the input freedomkj and Jeepster, I will try to get some pics posted as soon as I figure out how to post pics :D

lol, didnt really put any input in, but thx anyway.

just wondering how u wired it up. When i got my hella's, the kit came with its own relay and all that. I just wired it right to the battery and gave it its own fuse, so it was completly separate from the jeeps wiring. Did u use a relay? Where did u put ur switch at?

I took the easy way out and mounted the switch on the left side of the steering column, right where the fuse panel is located. I just made a short jumper from the add-a-circuit (in slot 2) to the lighted switch, another short jumper to the gronding screw behind the left kick panel, and the lights hot lead runs through the door jamb, under the rubber/foam piece to the lights. I already had the wired for my 2 meter ham radio running through there. Everything that goes throught the door jamb is protected with spiral wrap. The radio wires have been there for over a year so I just unwrapped the them and added the new lead. Gave me a chance to inspect the wires and they looked fine. I plan to add some more lights to the rear and also the sides of my cargo basket. rears will be on one switch and each side will have it own switch. I do alot of surf fishing ( hence the name) at night and it good to have the light when you need it. BTW, i didn't use a relay on the front fogs, they are always hot.
