So, I was just going over my head to make sure that I have everything that I will need and it dawned on me. Should I use thread lock when I put the suspension back together? As I type that I think no but I wanted to get your input as well.

Thanks.

No thread lock, but I would put anti seize on, it makes it come apart a whole lot easier the next time around.

Neither thread lock or anti-seize is needed.Anti-seize can actually cause stuff to come lose after time(I know it happened to me,long story, with the KJ also).Just make sure the upper strut nut and the sway bar end links are torqued correctly, the 2 biggest reasons for noises after a lift is put on.You can put a little grease or anti-seize in the holes where the ball joints and tie rods go through to ease disassembly is ever needed again.

NO!

the idiots that fixed my Jeep after my accident used locktite on the strut bolts. The nut was stuck on so tight that I broke the locking tang off of the lower clevis fork bolt. I almost wasn't able to get the bolt off since that side doesn't have a really deep bolt head and the corners are smashed off to hold the tang to the bolt head. I had to buy a brand new bolt from the dealer.

I think I will pass on the lock then and the seize. And btw, the lift....IT IS HERE!!!! I want to install the bugger now but need more tools, so will have to wait for father-in-law. He is an ex-body man and has more tools that I would ever know what to do with, lol. However, I will say, them springs are looking great! I even got a Frankenlift sticker with it :D I will put it on..even though it is not a full frank, just an OME :D

I also took some b4 pics to get some ideas on how much it raised it. I think even the wife is excited. LOL.

I don't have a problem with my thread lock stuff, I have been tearing down my front axels for the last 2 months with problems.
I probally do not have any left on the treads any ways now. LOL

I like blue lock tite, comes apart with hand tools and keeps moisture out of the threads. You don't want to use the red, need a torch to take apart.

That would be the green locktite that needs 600 degrees to seperate, the 242 red locktite is the meduim strength, the blue is the light stuff and the green is the perminate.

Yeah, I put red on my roof rack mounting bolts and they came apart with a little muscle. Never even seen green though. Oh, btw, try and avoid getting the red stuff in your mouth.

I was bolting my roof rack down onto my roof rails and I was adding a dab of the red threadlock from the small little squeeze bottle and every time I needed it I would dab it on and then put the bottle, tip side out, in my mouth so I had both hands free to work the bolts and what not. So I had it ever so gently in my mouth when I dropped a bolt, I turned and the force of my turning moved the bottle sideways in my mouth with the tip actually just inside my cheek. And at that exact moment, me not wanting to let the bolt fall to the garage floor, I flexed a little while trying to catch it and sure enough squeezed some tasty threadlock into my mouth. It is pretty thick stuff as you guys know and so it coated my mouth pretty good. It also works as a numbing agent apparently. My mouth was pretty numb for a while after that. So after you use it, put it down somewhere besides your mouth.
