I have an 05 Liberty and whenever its rainning out and when i open the door and water gets on the seat it leaves a water spot on the seat... Why does it do that??? They seem to wear away over time and eventually disapear. |

from what I remember its some sort of powder they use to slip the seat covers on with at the factory, mine do it somewhat , until I started cleaning them with one of the eraser sponge things , now just wipe them off and they are good |

I've also heard that Windex on a cloth will work fairly well. I have kids so it's going to take an upholstery extractor to clean mine. |

They changed the fabric on all the Jeeps in the 05 model year, my wifes KJ is going on the second set of seat covers, she is going to be writing a letter to Chrysler about this problem. I work for a Chrysler/Jeep dealership as a tech, the TSB to clean the seat covers with soapy water does nothing but stain the seat worse, doing nothing but covering up the stain with a different one. Our district manager just says to replace the covers but my wife and I want a more permanent solution. So write to Chrysler or call the customer care center(now based in India) and complain as loud as possible. |
