Post subject:  Big Thanks!

Not necessarily a regular poster on here but wanted to thank those that provided input for me, and or posted information about the several lifts available for the Liberty. Sites like these are great and long gone are the days of buying what the local shop recommends when they have no idea what they are dealing with.

Based on what I was looking for I went with the Rusty's 2.5" kit and the thread in the Tech Section about the Clevis lift gave my mechanic all he needed to get the job done right.

Anyway - you all have a good thing going here and it was invaluable in helping me achieve my goals with the KJ. I hope to do some more things with it but for now it remains the wifes DD. Heck - I'm just glad she liked this over the CRV / Rav / Escape. All three were comparables for smaller SUV's but definately had no Mod potential, nor would they look good covered in Mud.

Speaking of Mud, I need to find some now, and allot of it LOL

Cheers!

Sure will! There is a ton of great info on here and I am sure neat products will continue to be developed. I have yet to see anything but would love to find either a replacement front flair with 1/2" of additional room or find a way to modify the front flares, but maintain the factory appearance as much as possible.

Are you talking about a molded spacer to fit between the body and the flares? That's an interesting idea. If you only want 1/2" or so, that could just be some thick rubber or similar material that you shape to fit. The tough part would be finding a way to merge the flares into the other components, such as the molded rear bumper (at the side where it meets the flare). Might be a simple fix for that though, never know until you try it out.

No, It is an interesting idea though. In my case my Wheel / Tire setup with the lift will not let me run spacers so I can get the wheels flush with the Fenders. I just feel it would look so much better if I ran it that way. If I run spacers my tires will rub under turns on the front of the Fender Flare. I've noticed when I apply pressure to the front of the flare there is more room to be gained there that would allow me to get the extra space I need to clear. If someone out there sold a modified flair that brings the front out a 1/2 inch or so it would make a big difference in my case.
