Plan on running a full-time fridge in the Jeep since I work in the desert 6-days a week. Also plan on a winch later on and can also run a power invertor for a laptop and other accessories as needed off of it. |

It sounds like you need deep cycle batts. I would go with 2 6volt sealed glass mats in the back-end somewhere. That will give you a lot of amps, many, many recharges and very safe inside the Jeep. Get a hold of John at: www.jolynenterprises.com explain where you are and what you want to do. He can explain exactly what you will need to do and how to do it. He also has everything you will need for the job. John is a good man that does this stuff on RV's full time for a living. Terry |

i plan putting mine in the rear. i already have a 0/1 running back there for the amp so all i have to do is connected the battery and ground it. if you plan on doing this fuse near the front of the battery and near the rear battery to keep things from blowing up. kenetik makes some pretty good batteries but they are pretty costly. if planning on running the fridge and accessories for a long time figure you'll prob get 2-3 hours of life per battery depending on the amp draw. consider i can only run my 1600 watt rms amp for about an hour without the engine running with an optima blue top. and thats not a continuous draw like an inverter. |

Well the early plan i have is to remove the smaller of the 2 rear seats and fabbing up a "storage box" to bolt into the same points the seat did with the battery and electrical stuff stored underneath with an access panel in the front. On the top would sit the Engel or ARB refrigerator either held down by their slide lock system or creatively designed border securing trim built into the bolted in place "box" setup. Of course this "box" would be covered with nice fabric and made to be asthetically pleasing, but time will tell. This setup should still leave the rear cargo area predominantly free for other storage of work equipment and any other pertinent gear without interfering with the electrical stuff of the second battery. As for the setup itself I did find a cool solenoid, or at least I think it could work... National Luna Intelligent Solenoid And here is some other equipment as well... Dual Battery Gear |

A couple of guys have done a "rear seat delete". It might give you some ideas about swapping out just the small seat. Here's the link: http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=29777&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=snowsport&start=0 |

thanks for the thread link, yea that is my plan to remove the smaller of the 2 rear seats. Just so darn awkward to get to the bolts i think...but definitely doable. |

I think you will need to take the whole rear seat assembly out and then mod it to work with just the larger seat. I am really interested to see what you do with this. I want to do the same but just to increase the cargo area. I rarely have 3 passengers and a mod like this would make the vehicle that much more versatile. |
