Hey all, been a while....

In all my previous vehicles, when the blower motor's ballast resistor blew out, it would only leave the fan operable in the High position.

However, in my wife's '04 Libby, the fan works in both position 3 and 4; positions 1 and 2 are dead. Is this characteristic of the KJ ballast resistors, or do I need to dig deeper with this?

Thanks -

Could be a resistor.

Ive not looked into it real deep but it sounds like its just a multiplexer. It has 3 different resistors with different resistance and any of those 3 resistors can go bad. The 4th position doesnt use a resistor so only 3 is needed.

Could be wrong, Im just thinking out loud. :)

Hmmm...never seen one blow and leave TWO speeds working...

Oh well...they're cheap enough - I'll give it a try. Thanks!

Replaced mine in the last couple of weeks, on our '02, because speeds 1 and 2 didn't work.
