What would be the best plugs to use on the liberty? I dont want to spend 100 bucks on plugs but want a good plus also.

Tons of threads on this subject and tons of different answers. I Prefer NGK's in Everything since I have always had good results w/ them in Many different vehicles over many years. They are the OEM plugs for your KJ so you really can't go wrong. The v-powers do wear a little faster than the more expensive iridiums, etc but they work and do so well. FWIW, I have the NGK iridiums in my Scion and they look good after 20K so I will be trying them in my KJ next go around.

I cant remember what I used but they were Platinum and I just pick them up at my local auto parts store for about $3 each, and no gapping required

NGK, Bosh, Champions, any other brand or configuration of the electrode is a waste of money unless you drive a High performace vehicle.your plugs should be changed every 30 t0 50,000 miles anyway. Toyota is the only one with iridium plugs ive seen go to about 90,000.

Iridium from NKG in the KJ.

Should run around $60.00 for all 6 plugs.

(make sure you get a plastic gapper and don't use metal with the iridium's)

Watch them! I love Autolite & have used their products exclusivly for decades, but the correct part # for the KJ does not have the correct gap! I tried two sets, both of which were wrong. And re-gapping platinum plugs without the right tool usually means you no longer have a platinum plug.

I checked them and they were ok. Some needed a slight tap to make the gap smaller but for the most part they were ok. :)

I had to close the gap on all of them. I took the first set back because I thought that they might be the wrong ones. But I swear that the old butt-dyno showed a bit more livliness in the pig after I did them.

I have gotten the same result after every plug change in the KJ w. the NGK v-powers. I also see a nice little MPG improvement that tapers off over time.

I had Bosch Platinums in the last 30K and now put in Bosch Platinum 2, think I lost about 2-3 mpg. Also put a K&N drop in air filter. Rig is peppy but fuel efficiency is at it's worst. [/b]

Look at the emission sticker on the upper radiator support and it will tell you the spark plug gap.
