Hey all,

A couple days ago I had the key fobs stop working on me. I changed batteries and they still did not work. I even pulled the negative side of the battery cable for 15minutes in hopes that clearing the computer would help, but no luck. As of right now sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, but you still have to have the key within three inches of the drivers side door before you press unlock or lock. Even then sometimes it doesn't work. At the same time this happened my TPMS light came on. I checked all 5 tires and they are all at 34 psi. Has anyone had this happen or does anyone have any insight to what is going on. Please help!!!

Michael

You need to drive the car above certain speed (30mph?) for some amount of time (10 minutes?) before TPMS light would clear.

Check the spare tire too.

You changed the battery in what, in the key fobs?

I changed both batteries in the key fobs. The TPMS light should have never come on because the tir pressure is normal. That is the part I am confused about. And yes I checked all 5 tires. They are all at 34 psi. The TPMS light should have cleared it self after I disconnected the negative side of the battery, just like you can clear the check engine light.

Try pulling the diagnostic code then? (off, acc, off, acc, off, acc) within 5 seconds.

I just ran into your same key fob problem. Mine stoped working unless I was next to the drivers door so I figured "change the battery". After changing the battery, it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Wild guess ... did you guys change anything in the car (radio, etc.) that might interfere with RFID? The signal is pretty weak ... so if you had something really noisy it could conceivably not work.
