I'm trying to get a last minute ride together for the beginning of August, I've never wheeled there and don't know what to expect other than the hardcore trails Ive seen on the website. Anyone wheeled there? are there any KJ capable trails? oh and remember my diffs are open |

I have the open diff blues too. I am stuck between Eaton who says the Detroit Locker fits my axle and the tranny guy who says it does not. I tried to get her locked, but no locker for me. Anyway, you really should come to LOST Safari and wheel with your fellow KJ's. I am driving up from Ft lauderdale so cowboy up! I could make the AL to TN ride standing on my head! Don't make us come get you. |

well the detroit locker is what i was going to get this summer, but I ended up spending 1000 bucks to get it fixed. (dang IFS). Is there anyone running the Detroit that can chime in and tell us which model # to get, what fits, how much, and where they got it? |

You will be fine, the axle changed in 06, but no one is exactly sure why. I am thinking the housing is a but wider to make room for the toner ring needed for ESP. The locker fit, but the tech could not get the C clamps back on. My problem is the retailer sold me the right part for an application the manufacturer did not know changed so I am stuck. I might have a deal for someone if I can't get my money back. |
