Post subject:  Rare Jeep Wave

Sunday morning the family and I are driving up the road and approaching from the opposite direction I see a green Wrangler flashing headlights, honking and waving at me. I waved back, in shock.

Funny you should say that...last night me and my girlfriend went up into the foothills for a little night wheelin ( ) and I saw a white TJ leavin the trail. He gave me a wave when he was headin out. It gave me a chill to see a TJ guy give me a wave, I was always so concerned with what they thought when I was on the trails with them...*smirk*

At least you guys are getting waves. My arm is so tired of waving at KJ's, CJ's, TJ, ZJ', etc. I just wish they would wave back! :? :? :?

:D Keepon trying, once your KJ is as big as a monster truck and as set up as any extreme rock crawler out there you will get waves from everyone  I'm still workin on that... :D

There is a guy that has a blue 05 renegade that lives in my area.. I leave about 3:30-4 in the afternoon sometimes and I see him on the rural hwy that I take.. The first time I saw him I flashed quickly my roof lights.. and he did the same.. then we both waved.. now I see him all the time and he either flashes his lights.. or waves.. I always want to stop and find out if he is a member of LOST but we are going 55mph and there is nowhere to turn around 'quickly or safely' to catch back up to him.. this hwy is curvy and when I see him usually its in a few sharp curves..

He may be on the forum.. if you go on Hwy80 every afternoon near Popular Grove gas station and you see a khaki 04 renegade w/brush guard.. thats me.. :)

then there is this older lady that has a 05 renegade w/o roof lights.. i waved at her for a few days and she didnt wave back.. finally one day she waved at me first :) so now we wave all the time..

of course there are some CJ and other 4x4 truck guys that wave at me all the time.. i have no idea who they are but i extend the thought and give the jeep wave back.. :) its slowly getting better.. still I see TONS of KJ's on the Blue Ridge Parkway and nobody EVER waves..

Isn;t it just great when they wave back?
I get waved at all the time in the TJ, not so much in the KJ.

Keep waving, they'll catch on and do it back someday! It's great when a non-KJ waves at you. Last time I had my mtr's on I was crawling along in traffic and saw a Wrangler coming up behind me. So I keep peeking to see when he's near me. I look over in time to see him turned my way with a camera taking a picture as he's driving. He looked forward a little then full on turned around in his seat to take another one. So it wasn't exactly a wave but it was super cool.

If I'm driving around in the TJ on howling mud tires on a day with nice weather and topless (as in no hard/soft top, not going into shirts and the like), then I get waves from CJs, YJs, TJs, and sometimes other Jeeps and convertibles.

Take away any of these things and the probability of a wave goes down:

- mud tires (I have a set of "street tires" I use also)
- toplessness
- nice weather

I have received exactly one wave so far in the KJ ... felt pretty good on that one occasion.

Not exactly 'a girl my lord in a flatbed ford' but a great story. Unless it was a guy from Homeland Security and he was after you.

Should have puiled him ober and showered him with LOST biz cards.

Here in Pa I get a wave every so often from a Wrangler..... I don't usually wave to other KJs (mostly because they never wave back, and are usually staring at me funny) unless they look like they might care...ie they did not buy their KJ just to get groceries....

Man, ever since i bought my 04 kj, i wave to every jeep that i see on the road. Maybe the people in montana are friendlier than most because for the most part people (with the exception of the ones who look at me like im crazy) wave with just as much as enthusium as i do.

Post subject:  Renegade Wave

A week or so ago, another Renegade driver was coming towards me in the opposite direction, and we both flashed our roof lights at the same time.

I'm sorry to say this and it sounds wrong but here in the Kansas City metro area the only ppl that drive KJ's are soccor moms on the way to the grocery store. I would say that 1 out of 4 KJ's I see have a man behind the wheel. (Not that there's anything wrong with that) When I wave to another KJ most likley it's a prim and proper soccor mom that thinks I'm checking her out. I've stopped waving to the KJ's for that reason. I don't need to get pulled over and arrested for stalking someone.

the jeep wave i think has completely stopped happening around me. i remeber when my brother had his yj in 95 he used to get waved at all the time . now that everyone and there mother has a jeep around me the wave has seemed to stop. I have as of yet to get a wave back.

Down here in South Florida your lucky you don't get shot for waving at someone. Lots of hostility.
I must have the only lifted CRD in the area. Which is just fine with me.
But there are some cool wranglers around, they just don't know about the "wave"!

I have had several wranglers and I loved to wave. I really think I miss it more than I care to admit, it was like being in a family. It used to drive my brother in law crazy when he was riding with me. Other wranglers would wave and he would say you’re all crazy but that even made it better that he didn’t get it. Today I waved out of instinct again and was surprised I got a wave back. Some Jeep lovers get it so I may start trying to wave a little and if I get a wave back cool if not its to bad for them if they don’t realize a Jeep is a Jeep.

The wave is great. But remember if you see something like a CJ-2a or old military jeep you must pull to the side of the road get out of your jeep and BOW  Especially if it is all original. Why? Because without them there would be no Jeep.
