You can get to them with a swivel ratchet. I have removed/attached my tow hooks more times than I'd like to admit to. |

Do you mean a u-joint adapter? sorry, I'm just learning about the tools of the trade... I have a ratchet set that has a u-joint adapter I think |

Regular Box wrench should fit into the cutouts and allow you to loosen the nuts holding the hooks in place. I'd personally use a brush and a can of rustoleum so the coat was thick and durable. No sense going with spray paint on those things. |

A ratcheting wrench will also work.

I think they're metric. 15 mm according to this: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Jeep_Liberty/Torque_Specs_&_Socket_Sizes But if you already have a swivel adapter, like this, and an extension, you shouldn't need the wrench. Of course, the best solution is to remove the bumper, replace with an ARB bullbar and sell the plastic one. |

I had found the best way to do this freaking job. 1. BEER 2. 3/4 drill bit 3. another beer 4. mark on the bumpber where the bolts are 5. another beer 6. DRILL THE HOLES 7. more beer 8. use a 3/8 extention and socket and un-do the nuts on the tow hooks. 9. more beer 10. even more beer Actually guys, on my 03 KJ i did drill holes where the bolts were for the tow hooks and that made my life easy. no one will see them, they are on the bottom |

At least it was to put mine on! |

I still say cutting the plastic away is the best solution. Not only does it make modification easier (only need extension, not swivel), it improves approach angle. |

This idea sounds better and better everytime I hear it. |

If I can't figure out how to get that to work than I might just look at a ratchet box wrench or something of that sorts... |
