I went over to the auto parts store on Sunday and I noticed a YJ parked up front with the hood opened. I parked next to it and went inside. There was a gathering of high school kids chatting with the dude at the parts counter. It was obvious from their conversation, they were attached to the YJ out front and they were regulars.

As I walked past them with my purchase, the parts counter dude told me that I had a "real nice set up". Of course I replied humbly "Thank you". I heard him explaining to the boys "that thing right there is a snorkel". Then he shouted out the question that gave me pause "Is that an S-10?

I simply replied "no, it's a Jeep". I went straight home and took a shower. :(

Being a Jeep owner he should've known that it was a KJ. in my personal opinion I think he was just being a smart booty. Trying to play cool kid infront of the other kids. Thats just my .02

If the counter guy can't tell the difference between a Jeep and a Ford, I doubt I'd ever go back in that part store.

Doubt you'd get the right parts from a place like that.

That is the reason I ask here first then check the store website for part numbers before I buy. Wonder what kind of car spotting skills the guy who wasn't hired had.
