I went over to the NHTS site (http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/) and filed a lower ball joint complaint. I URGE EVERYONE OF YOU TO CHECK YOUR BALL JOINTS AND FILE A COMPLAINT WHETHER THE DEALER FIXED IT OR NOT AND WHETHER YOU HAD THE RECALL DONE OR NOT! While at the site I looked at their active investigations. None there regarding the ball joints. HOWEVER, if you go look at their complaints filed for MY2002 you'll see 29 out of 97 total complaints were for BJ issues. Many had the recall and still had the failure! THAT WAS JUST FOR 2002. I also checked the 2003 filings and it was 41 out of 197 complaints. I wonder what it takes to get an investigation going. PLEASE FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE NHTS. |

I simply stated the lower ball joints were out of manufacturers spec at 40,100 miles and with the prior recall done. Later in the form there's a suspension classification for LBJs. |

I'll be writing the same thing, since it's exaclty the same scenario. 44k and they were way out of spec and replaced under recall. I had the recall heat shields installed at 23k after just over a year but not the BJ's done then. |
