Post subject:  LBJ NUT..NEED HELP!

My LBJ nut threads are all messed up, don't want to put it on and screw the threads on the LBJ stud. Jeep dealership parts counters are all closed. Is this something I can get from home depot or lowes? Anyone know the thread info?

Thanks

You will need a 21mm grade 8 bolt.

Man I know what you went though. When I did my lift my drivers side LBJ NUT go so F-BOMB I had to call every place and hit both homie D and loews and they did not have the size I needed.

I ended up buying a LBJ at auto zone just for the NUT. Returned the LBJ the next morning for a refund. HAHA

I messed the threads up on a balljoint nut and luckily the dealer near home had some.

For some reason I felt the need to put the nut on the clevis fork bolt.

Just to let you know there is no such thing as a 21mm grade 8 bolt. There is 21mm 8.8,21mm 9.8,and 21 10.9 bolts, then there are the SAE side which is the standard sizes like 1/2,9/16,and 15/16 which come in grade 5 and grade 8.They are not intermixed,it's either metric or SAE.

Doesn't everyone have cans of old nuts/bolts etc stored up??? I have several cans of old nuts etc that I keep just for that reason if one gets messed up/ lost or something you have spares, looked the today and have at least 8 or 10 ball joint nuts! I even have all of my Grandfathers cans of bolts that come in real handy at times !

YEP :D plenty of Sauce jars nailed to the shelves in the garage full of years of nuts and bolts, the best part about it is that my father needed everything labeled, I have stuff in those jars dsating back to 1957, i miss him :( , i stll collect the nuts and bolts but dont label the jars.

Well I would call it getting even with auto zone. They screwed me a few weeks before I did my lift so I was happy to get them back. It was for only 35.00

I bought break pads for my wife's car and a month later when I saw my CC statment, they charged my CC 4 times. On my sales slip it only showed 1 trans action. I fought them about it and thank god I used my American Express card, AMEX got it all back.
