Anybody know anything about the door handles on the Liberator? I love the look, but can't seem to find them. make them yourself, they are one off customs like everything else on the Liberator. I did my rear handle 3 years ago , not a big deal, just drill holes in them! Its like most cool, neat things if you want unique you build it yourself Tom |

Looks good tom! Did you put anything behind the handle for protection or did you just opt to be very careful about it? lol |

hey chief bk, just be sure not to put your hand behind there. I told my wife to hold her hand back there.....didn't work though No I taped the drill bit so it would only go through so far. AND it May not be any faster but I had to lighten it up somehow |

I'm still waiting for you to do the rest of the handles Tom, I think you could fit 4 holes on each one. |

Cool look! Are the handles plastic or metal coated with plastic? |

drilled all the way through of course and they are just plastic no metal in them at all, easy to do I suppose I will not be the only one now will I??? Drilling 4 holes you would need to drill smaller holes, I like big old holes 1/2 inch holes in the door handles, 1/2 inch hole though the roof rails to mount the basket who was it that said " a Jeeps not yours until you drill a hole in it " or something like that |

Actually, I was thinking of slotting mine - sort of connecting the holes together thus having a long "slot" in the length of the handle. I may pick up one from a junker and experiment if it isn't too costly. |

That would work as well , the handle itself is pretty think so should hold up even with a slot in it! |

I think with four 1/2 inch holes it would weaken it too much they are not solid all the way through, maybe 1/8 inch or so think, have to measure in the morning, garage locked up for tonight It may work with four, I drilled the first one and then looked to see if I wanted to go more and thought 3 would do it drilled an 1/8 inch hole first to see thickness/location etc OH so when you do drill holes it it you can see the insides of the handle, doesn't hurt anything after over 3 years and 165 times being washed still OK |
