My daughter's boyfriend was in the AAA office today and they told him gas was going up to $5.00 to $5.26 a gallon tomorrow! Everyone better check your area. It might not just be the Gulf states, it could be national. Terry |

Last month I paid about $8.00 a gallon in Eagle Plaines, Yukon Territories, and happy to do so. Next fuel stop was 150 miles in one direction and 300 miles in the other direction. |

Funny me and the wife were just talking about this I have 10 gallons from my return home post Gustav ,I have a pass for work as a first responder so I get in before the people who work at gas stations to help with the recovery and the 10 gallons is to get me to a gas station in an emergency which was the case more than once post Katrina any way I paid $3.59 a gallon for it and now it is worth $3.89 a gallon ,that is $3 total plan is to go fill up the KJ and the F250 in a little while The TJ has a full tank still from Gustav ,in fact it has not moved in 2 weeks ,parked in doors this storm crap is getting old |

Two days ago I noticed the station I usually buy from (Shell Oil) was $3.84.9 -- Today when I needed gas, he was at $4.15.9 I thought to myself... *#@&!! Him!! So I went down a couple of traffic lights and discovered the BP Amaco at $3.88.9 - I filled up there. |

I dont see this happening. not overnight anyway... Guess we'll see in a few hours. But the good news is The marina I'm dockmaster at has 12,000 gallon above ground tanks. one full of gas, one full of diesel. I just wont change the price |

$5.00 gas will kill the economy even more. Not to mention that would be considered gouging. Texas makes up only 25% of America's oil. I thought we imported the rest... But omg, a storm is coming so lets raise the prices. This is truely getting old. |

call it "the Surge" by the oil companies to get as much as possible while they can....change is coming....one way or another. BTW, did you see that OPEC is going to start cutting production to offset our increase production if we start drilling more so that we can't affect the global market? |

Yeah and did you see that it will most likely not effect the price of gas since we are no longer using that much, demand has dropped dramaticaly.
Oh and gas went down a few cents here, like it matters since I only put about 4 gallons of gas in my KJ a week anyways. |

They will just keep cutting production to make sure there is enough demand to keep the price on the barrel where they want them. BTW, who says we are not using much anymore? all the commuters around here are still forced to drive to work every day and with winter heating oil needs coming up I see an increase in demand. |

Venezuela - (CITGO) & Iran wants to get the price back up to $140 barrel, Iraq and Saudia said they'd be fine with $80 to $90 a barrel. We all need to stop buying from CITGO. |

I do not know why any American would buy from Citgo anyway. Chavez is a real problem. Lewis |

That's a regional thing; they are gouging your part of the state. In Ft Lauderdale, diesel was down to $4.11 from a weekly high on Tuesday of $4.18. The Tampa area is being hit particularly hard with rationing. Glad I live on the business end of our nations phallus! |

CITCO does a good business here: There is a large Venezualan community here and all the stations on the Florida Tpke are CITGO too. Personally, I'd rather push my vehicle until I found something else. Chavez can kiss my imperialist butt. |

^^^ I will not use CITCO for the reasons previously mentioned. Gas here this morning (9/12) when I got home was $3.59 - 3.61 depending on brand. It's not just the price of the gas itself, so it affects everything we buy, and it is a global market, so as we in the USA try to cut back (where possible) and some other country (like China and other emerging countries) gets more cars and increases usage, it keeps the usage and demand up on a global basis.. and the price manipulation goes on. Seems like every time a bear craps in the woods the price goes up. And in some places like where I am, there is no mass transit. so if you want to go to work or need something, you must drive. |
