| Post subject: | Mysterious Sound |
Howdy all: I'd love everyone's thoughts and wisdom on a new sound my KJ started making last week. First thing in the morning when I start driving my KJ, after I've been going for about ten to twenty minutes, I get a fairly lound sound from the front half of the vehicle that to my mind sounds like a stuck piston moving in its sleeve. Reminds me of the sound that the clutch slave cylinder on my old Triumph roadster made when it was getting old and worn out -- I'd push in the clutch, and then when I released it, the piston would get hung up for a few seconds, and then would move back out and make a sound. To my kids, it sounds like the Liberty is passing wind (and they have accused me of being the source of the sound -- haha). It only does it once a day, and only when I've been driving for ten to twenty minutes. It also doesn't do it every single day, but just about every day. Sadly, I can't tell exactly where it comes from since it always takes me by surprise. Perhaps I should have my girlfriend drive me around, and I can listen more carefully. Anyone had their Liberty do the same thing? Thanks! |
