| Post subject: | Transmission problem...(nope, a/c) |
Hey guys, i got myself a problem. I've got an 02 Liberty Limited, 3.7L Auto. Last night i got a really weird whinning sound from my transmission. Has anyone ever heard of this? It doesn't seem to effect the performance. It's got 61k on it, but until now was running fine. It's the holiday season and we'll be traveling alot, so i need the 4whl drive(it snowed last night). But, i dont' want to hurt anything more if something's wrong with it. I myself haven't ever had this sound. It almost sounds like a belt slipping, but that is not it. I checked. It does it in every gear, although i haven't tried to engage the 4x4. And it seems to be worse at lower RPM's. I really can't explain it, but i was hoping some of you experts could help me out, cause like i said, i need my Liberty for the next 4 days of traveling. But, i can take the car if i have to. What do you guys think? oh, and one time, while it was making the sound, i accelerated hard and it went away for a few minutes. But came back. (update) Nope, went to check it out again today and it turns out my a/c compressor is going bad. Is this something i can change myself? I can't drive it can i? I hear you can't because if it locks up, then you burn up the belt and out goes your electricals..] |
