| Post subject: | A Libby Story |
OK, so today a bunch of us from work volunteered to haul some fire wood for a disabled vet. The guy was in the Navy for 4 years. Five days after he was discharged from the Navy, he was in an ATV accident that left him with brain damage. A wood stove is his only means for heat during the winter. I have a 7x12 utility/motorcycle trailer. So we used my trailer to haul over a chord of wood from the Air Force Academy to his house in Falcon (about 20 miles). We hauled the trailer of wood with my 07 Libby Limited (she is a dirty girl). Libby didn't like the load of wood, it was a little bit of a load for her at highway speeds. When we got to the house, the spot they wanted the wood was on a pretty good hill. Libby pulled the tailer off road like it was nobodys business... We have RV sze parking next to our house where I keep my trailer. In between the house and the gate to the RV parking is this big bush. I backed the trailer into it's place, got out to unhook it. It was a tight squeweze between the bush and the Libby door. I got to the hitch and forgot the key to the lock on the trailer, they were in the center consol. So I went to the driver side door to get the key, the door was locked. I must have pushed the button squeezeing between the bush and door, and Libby was still running! So I called my wife (who happened to be on her way home any how) and said to hurry I need your keys. While I sat and watched dollar signs come out of Libby's exhaust, I got mad, I got out my hedge trimmers and made a naked bush. But the majority of the branches where too big for the hedge trimmers. So the naked bush was still about 3 feet tall. Finally my wife gets home and I get the trailer unhooked and move Libby. My wife told me not to pull the bush out, she liked it. Then she went to Sonic to get lunch (about 4 blocks away). I realized that using the hedge trimmer was a mistake, all it did was make a huge mess. But boy I was feeling better. When the wife got home, she jumped out of the car and said "I told you not to pull the bush". I explained, that I didn't do it. Libby did it. The bush made Libby mad. She said "BULL S**T! what did that bush do to Libby?" I said "it scratched her door" (not that you could tell it from any of the other tree scratches). Then Libby got out her tow strap, that she has been itching to use; and threw it around the bush and gave it a tug, while I stood there and watched". "POOF" no more bush. *Big smiles* Libby didn't even spin a tire all day. |
