And you will have to write a large check to the stealership. |

About the only thing else that should go bad is.............are you ready for this.................the rest of the windows! Ta Da!!! Was the window making a lot of noise before this happened? That is, when putting it up or down? Mine did right before it broke. Then the other front one started. I opened up the door and put a bunch of grease on the track and it works like new now. Might want to keep that in mind. Also, tell the dealer you want the old one. Then post pictures of what broke along with your thoughts on why it broke. Could be interesting. Terry |

When my window regulator gave up the ghost, I only paid $107. Wasn't that big of a check...bigger than I wanted, but still not too bad. Oh well, I suppose it pays to be able to do things for yourself instead of relying on everybody else to bail you out FYI, my 02's driver rear regulator broke. the cable pulled out of the white plastic elevator piece. looking at both parts side by side, I saw zero difference between the two parts, aside from one being broken. |

bird, when yo uget the part, leave the bolts that are in the motor and regulator assemblies in. that'll make it easier to locate in the slots. I found that one out the hard way |

So what I don't get is how does the window just fall down. windows were up the evening before. then in the morning the window is down. I can hear the motor working but window does not go up. |

Because the cable broke. The cable holds the window up when it's up. When a part breaks, it no longer serves its intended purpose. Far-fetched, I know, but the truth! |

Interesting the part alone is about 150 so you got a deal! |

Should.. To answer runningbird question about it falling down over night. The cable probably broke when the window was put up and whom ever was putting it up didnt know it broke. When the window sat over night it slowly made its way down. Probably since its cooler at night, etc. Couldnt really find anything on wholesale discount ThunderbirdJunkie, do you have a link? |

Would be nice if someone did a thread on how to replace a regulator. When one of mine went out,I did my best to figure out what went wrong. That was before I even knew of a regulator. Even while under warranty,I'd rather do things myself. 110 miles left |

Mine fell down about a month ago. Thought it was the regulator too but thought I would investigate it further. Took apart the door and found the little screw drive component that lets the window go up and down came unglued from its plastic/metal base allowing it too just slide all the way down. I ended up ziptying it in the up position until I can find time to glue it back in place. Bought some 3M plastic to metal glue for about $4.50 at Autozone and that should fix it for me, i hope. |

I thought most of the problem regulators were the 05/06's so why would you want to replace it with one of those? |

We've replaced 3 window regulators on our 02 Liberty. The dealer charges about $300 for the job if you don't do it yourself. |
