Cigar lighter? Do KJ's have those? Hmmm........ I better go look. My Cubans could use a good lighting.

Are you 100% sure you got the righ fuse?

Did you check the fuse in the end of the power cord for your lap top? Try another type of electronic device in both recepticals.

Or...try lighting your Cubans if you have a Cigar Lighter. If it doesn't give you that good Cuban smoke, then it IS the darn lighter.

Sorry...I can't find my Cigar lighter in my KJ

The easy way to check your 'cigar lighter' would be to use a voltmeter. Then you will know if you are getting enough 'juice' or not. If i plug my air compressor into the cig lighter it will sometimes blow the fuse. That is why i plug it into the acc plug. It works better there. Note: You can also get cig adapter/splitters to plug 2 devices into the same plug in if you need to.

well the only other thing i would try is to check every fuse in the cab, and under the hood.

I don't know about the 06 models, but my 02 has a lighter and a separate power outlet in the front, plus the one in the back. I know at some point they made the lighter part of an optional "smoker's package." My owners manual says not to plug anything into the lighter. Is the front outlet that now doesn't work actually a lighter socket or a dedicated power outlet?

I doubt if you melted any wires running just a laptop. I've read posts where people have complained about Jeep mislabeling the fuses. You may have blown a fuse but haven't found the right one. Like Hood said, try em all.

Another possibility is that you've got an effed-up plug on the laptop that has somehow damaged the power sockets.

Check to make sure the manual is telling you to check the right fuse. The diagram is incorrect in my 2004 manual for the fuses.

Check to see if youre getting 12v at the fuse.
