Some sensored word ripped off my drivers side mirror saturday night...found it in a dumpster behind my building. The broke the mounting part, so I have to get a new one. Anyone ever replace theirs before? How'd ya do it?

Not too hard to do. I broke mine while backing out of my garage. You take the screw off the arm rest and door handle (there is a little cover) and yank on the door panel until it comes off. Behind the door panel, there are 3 small nuts (not sure what size) that hold the mirror to the door. Remove them and be VERY careful not to drop them. Yank on the mirror and repeat the steps in reverse order.

cool, THANKS....do you have the power mirrors? Did the new mirror come with full wiring? How much did you pay for it?

Got them off ebay, didn't come with new wiring. Might be a separate part or part of a harness.

Once you have the screws out of the door panel try to be careful when taking it off. There are plastic clips on the back of it and they will break if you just start pulling really hard. I like to start at the bottom and work my way left and right till I reach the top. Then it should lift right off.

Anyone ever just replace the mirror glass itself? Mine caught a rock a couple weeks ago and now it is starting to crack worse so I guess its time to replace it. I'll be checking the aftermarket through google just wondering if anyone found the mirror glass yet?

It is sold as a unit.

Also, the after-market units while having good fit and finish tend to "rattle" the glass noticeably shakes - sometimes to the point of being unusable, and at best annoying, I highly recommend getting factory replacement parts.

Why not upgrade to heated mirrors; if you don't yet have them.

The install takes about 5 minutes, 10 if you are being super careful! I was lucky. I found a Power, Heated, Self-Dimming mirror for $45 on eBay Buy It Now! Can you say... *CLICK*?! Someone came by during the night a little too closely, so in the morning I found my mirror shattered. At least the glass alone was damaged and the whole unit wasn't ripped off! Again, lucky!

Hmmm..... Ebay auction 170276701329. I'll see what the dealer wants for it before jumping on that though.

I dunno JJ, I personally would stay FAR away from that one. At VERY least I would affix it with some epoxy, not the "2-sided tape" that comes with it! I'm not a believer in "quick-fixes" when it comes to something safety related!

Oh no doubt. I wouldn't trust the tape in the weather extremes we have here anyway.

Had the same problem with the OEM mirror I replaced. Took it back and it was better, but still has a noticable vibration.
