Can a dealership decline a warranty claim based on the fact that there is mud on the underside and motor?

can all depend on the dealership and also how much mud etc. I mean if yuo drag it in with the trans out of it, mud still dripping off the roof and tires you can tell were burnt spinning on rocks then yes they will say it was abused. I have denied claims like that before when I worked at a Ford dealership. But just a little mud and you can tell that the owner takes care of it then no they shouldn't!

Well I cleaned most of the mud off the underside. And I need to take it in for the problems I posted in the 4x4 thread. The leak and clunk

I don't see why the could. You can get all sorts of junk splashed up on the underside just by driving down the road.

Depends on the warranty. I brought my CRD to the dealer with a burnt out AC condensor fan (packed with mud) and a diesel leak from a hose I damaged while replacing the EGR. It was an aftermarket extended warranty I bought from CarMax. The dealer simply put in the claim and got paid. I told them that anything not covered I would do myself so it was in their best interest if they wanted to get paid. I don't know what they said to the warranty company, buy they approved $1k worth of repairs less $75 deductable.

I also have the carmax extended warranty, so you just took yours to a jeep dealership and they fixed it and billed carmax?
