Somewhere on here is a picture of a busted front differential. I need that if someone knows where it is. Sway Bar: There are differing opinions on if the front sway bar is better off or on when off road. Some say that there is no difference. Has anyone actually taken any measurements to see? If someone feels really energetic how about jacking up the front to get the tires in the air, measure from the tire (bottom) to the ground. Do that with the sway bar on and off. Myself, I'm to lazy! Might as well get that right out there! Terry |

Quote: but about any trail you run with the swaybar off - you can run with the swaybar on - That's not the critical factor.
I agree. I ran many trails in my wifes KJ both w/ and w/out and only noticed the Jeep feeling a little more stable With it on. Prior to that I had both a disco bar and no bar on my blue KJ so I had a different Jeep to compare too also. |

I'm not interested in how rides, better or not. I also know that the sway bar isn't the weak point of the KJ. I just want to know the measurements. So, your answers are that you haven't measured any difference if there is any. But, thanks anyway. ATXKJ: That is the picture I was thinking of. Thanks a million! Terry |

How's this for measurements? With swaybar: RTI score of 450 without: 500 rear sway bar off for both measurements and pics of the diff:

I should clarify a couple things for those RTI scores though. The 450 was on Rusty's 2.5" springs on all 4 corners. The 500 was on OME HDs in the front and Rusty's on the rear, before I mounted the winch to the front. |
