The above message should have said "hope I posted correctly" Anyway it worked. The tubes fit a little too far in/under the car than I would have liked but they do add a little "bling" & they deflect rocks pretty good when I drive on dirt roads. |

I had a set of the mopar graphite rock rails, but they didn't last very long. . . i think they were more for looks than anything else cause i beat the crap out of those things and eventually they got torn off.

For some reason i always end up going over bigger rocks than i should be lol. I plan on getting the super sliders from rock lizard fabrications and painting them GM to match the trim and arb bumper. |

The rails have two tabs in the middle that bolt to a cross frame. I had to drill the holes myself to put them on. As far as modding those rails other than the two tabs everything else is tubular which would make mods difficult. The pic you have there is how my rails looked when i first put them on. In all honesty i wouldn't use those rails as sliders i picked up mine when my KJ was stock and i just started wheeling and now knowing the trails i go on and the way i drive i need something much stronger than the OEM rails. The metal used to make those is very thin, and the tabs bolting them to the jeep is even thinner. |
