It's a tough decision I'm sure many of you have had to make..... do I put some more money against the loan...... or do I buy one of the many things i want for the truck (personally thinking frankenlift right now.) It's a terrible decision...... i hate owing money. Then again winter is upon me and i hate driving a practically stock Jeep..... oh the troubles and trials.

X2. Even to the point of buying a second Jeep so you can do an SAS on the one you're STILL making payments on!   Yeah, I'm a bit nuts. :P

Ah yes, I could not have expected any different advice. :D Yet I am not unhappy about it, the lift kit is looking more and more intriguing. I'll let this thread play out and perhaps depending on the outcome of the advice i'll be able to finally make up my mind and at least do something. I did just send an inquiry on the shipping costs...

Oh btw, a second KJ is not in the making I think that's a bit much, actually 800+ for a lift is a bit much a second jeep is well

Actually, the second Jeep was only $800 total, for me! :D I wish now I'd saved all the money I've dumped into the KJ so far for an SAS to begin with. On the plus side, I'll have a LOT of parts to sell to compensate for the costs some. Or maybe I'll just throw another D30A in the KJ and build this, instead... I keep going back and forth.

This is the responsible answer…… make the extra payment which will drop the principal down more than your regular payment because 100% of this payment will go towards the principal. But, I would buy parts with it myself.

Parts definitely, because that one extra payment won't make enough difference to even matter. Just my 2 cents.

Take the jeep note (and your 1/2 of the rent) funds and buy beer. That's what my kin would do

When I was younger, I bought used vehicles and paid everything off (including my education). Now that I'm older, I make more money and I can afford more toys. So, my advice is to be responsible, make wise decisions, and pay off your Jeep first. :D

Yep, get the monkey off your back first, then you can go and play!
For me, half the fun of modding a vehicle is planning, replanning, dreaming, etc before I get busy and do it.

With it being winter, the question is this: Do you need parts to make winter safe for you? Tires, specifically. If not, I would go for the payment. I have been thinking about doing one or two extra payments to get mine paid off sooner, but then again, I am on 0% financing so I don't save except I get $440 a month back in my pocket sooner.

I had to come up off the ropes with some good WWF wrestling moves on the salesman and manager to get it. Plus the fact that I was 65 miles away from home and they knew I wouldn't come back if I left because there were many Jeep dealers close to my home (they had the only color I wanted, but I never let them know that).

Neither, save the payment funds for a rainy day payment or rainy day repair.

well then the I's have it, actually i do appreciate this input, i wasn't just messin around when i posted it. The lift will have to wait, I'd love to have better tires for winter but..... I'll just drive careful. Another grand toward the loan...... and I'm still a furlong from paying it off. Who knows maybe I'll get lucky and find a generous rich relative come Christmas
