Post subject:  Problem

Hey everyone,
Problem: Started yesterday afternoon on my way home from work when I was idle at a stop light in traffic the RPM's were dropping to 500 to 600 and the whole Jeep was shuddering and feeling like it wanted to stall, I would put in neutral and rev the engine a little and it would be fine, as I was in the Jeep more it started happening less.
This am I had no issues with it on my way into work.
Then on my way home it started having issues shifting into gears and not wanting to shift or down shift and i would give it some gas and would start shuddering and then the check engine light would start flashing untill I slowed down more and kept a even pace.

Could this be water in my transmission? I was playing in some water this weekend that may have got into it?

When I got home I went to check the codes and it read DoNe so no major codes.

Any help and solutions?

Thanks

Have you checked the fluid?

How deep was the water?

How many miles?

Fluid is a little high. Best way to drain???

But doesn't seem like any water on dipstick, jeep is on flat ground warm and in N

I did get a code to pop up p0306, misfire cyclinder 6. Which one is this? and would this cause the syptoms that I described?

Water was just over my rockrails.

Cylinder #6 is closest to the firewall on the pass. side..

# 6 is right rear, ( under the overflow tank)
battery can do "some" of the things you have described
water should not of gotten in the tranny if only up to the rock rails

Just replaced stock battery Monday with a Optima Red Top.

Replaced all my plugs just now and seems to be running better going to go take a drive and see how it acts.

How old's your fuel filter. I know you're a gasser, but a clogged or partially blocked fuel filter can cause some of those symptoms and vary after the engine/fuel warm up a bit.

Get some bad gas maybe?

64,000 miles fuel filter never changed, could be bad gas gonna top it off tomorrow and throw some sea foam in it and run that.

Took it for a drive a little while ago and it was running better after the plugs were changed.

We will see what it does tomorrow.

Thanks for all the input.

For some reason my jeep only likes the stock NGK plugs, I just removed the autolite plugs I installed last month with the NGK'S and my CEL for random misfire p0300 and p0306 are gone, Ran good with the autolites but better with the stock plugs..
