After it being up for sale for over 2 months I finally closed a deal on our KJ. A soldier currently in Iraq was browsing Craigslist over there and saw my ad for the truck. His parents live a little north of me and his dad called me 2 weeks ago to come see the KJ. One week later he called and gave me an offer...we haggled and agreed on $12,700. He showed up today with the money and drove it home. His dad is driving it out to Texas where his son is stationed to hand it over to him once he is back from Iraq on Jan. 3rd. Anyhow, this frees up some coinage to dump into the CJ!

What are your plans for the CJ? Time to change the signature I guess.

Nothing too major... a spring lift, a locker in the rear end if the factory Trac-Loc no longer functions and a transfer case gear reduction kit. Lots of other little items to keep me busy till spring:)

Right on. Post pics up in the Wrangler & CJ section of your projects on it.

You might want to replace the the trac-loc anyway. Even when new, their bias is so low that they aren't much fun anyway. The D44 ones are no better than 8.25 ones.

Wouldn't it be a Corp AMC model 20 in his CJ? I've yet to see the CJ in person, so I don't know...SCOTT!

Congrats dude! Being CJless for 6 years now, I'm certainly jealous :?

The AMC 20 did not start till the later '70s in the CJ's. Mine has the factory D30 up front with the D44 in the back.

I will still try to make all the local LOST runs as I can. Wheelin' is wheelin', ya know?

I am in the process of readying the CJ for offroad activities. Securing a 5th Hurricane rim from a guy in Philly for a spare as I don't have one as of right now, tow hooks, CB install, all fresh fluids, maybe all new shocks...things like that. Doing a rear axle seal and extended front brake lines this week. Installed a Superlift AAL this past weekend to the front to level it since the rear sat higher. This thing has some pretty huge rear spring packs. I really had no plans of taking offroad till March or so.
