Oil pressure readings are somewhat decieving. Don't regard these readings as Lb/square inch(like a tyre).
Don't worry about exploding the engine from too high a pressure. After all your dipstick is not airtight. Any over pressure will result in oil flowing out of the dip-stick tube.

is this suppose to be a joke?
I don't know that I can answer your question, but hopefully can put your mind at ease a bit. Your oil pressure will vary greatly depending on outside temp, engine temp, rpm's, oil weight and probably your filter.....at least those are the factors you can change or easily observe. As has been previously stated, your reading are within all the values stated in the FSM.
I had an '84 Bronco that after I installed a mechanical oil pressure gage, decided to run 20w-50 oil in the summer because with the 10w-30 or 40, the idle pressure would drop down to 8 psi (vs. 20psi with the heavier oil) after getting off the highway. However when the engine was cold, I would have higher pressures, I believe it started out around 60 psi I would drop from there as the temp climbed at idle.
